In this table type we used primarily Hand-Hewn Sleeper Middles from old style barns. The table top and legs were made strictly from this wood however the cross support the runs underneath were made from Hand-Hewn Roof Rafter Polls. The legs in this table are quite unique in that they are actually two additional Sleeper Middles that were curved and then we cut them to fit as was needed. The pictures seen here do not give any indication of the table's beauty. The top of the table is 3 inches thick and capable of supporting a huge amount of weight. Furthermore a marine varnish was put of top (same varnish used on marine equipment) making it even stronger and water-proof, even so far as it could be used as outdoor furniture if desired.
